ESL Beginners - Day - Non-Resident

English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction is designed for adults who are non-native speakers with limited English language skills. Students will receive instruction in reading, pronunciation, speech idioms and writing English. Non-East Haven residents must pay $50 per semester.

ESL - Intermediate/Advanced - Evening - Non-resident

This ESL class is designed for adults who are speakers of other languages and have either completed our beginners ESL classes or meet a minimum score on placement test. Students will receive instruction in reading, conversation, pronunciation, speech idioms and writing English. Non-East Haven residents must pay $50 per semester.

Classes meet Monday & Wednesday evenings, 6:00-8:00 pm.

The Adult Basic Education (ABE) Program is designed to provide instruction in the basic academic skills of reading, writing, and mathematics to adult learners in order to prepare them for transitioning into higher education, vocational training and/or employment.  This program can be used as a precursor to the GED and EDP programs.  The desired outcome is to help each adult learner reach a high level of self-sufficiency as an individual, family member, and community member.
